13 Best LinkedIn Creator Tools in 2026 (Tested & Compared)

LinkedIn's content game has changed. The algorithm now favors original expertise over recycled advice and viral reposts. Formatting affects readability. Posting time affects reach. And understanding what actually works for your audience requires analytics that most creators never look at.

The right tool fills a specific gap in your workflow. The wrong one wastes money. Or worse, puts your account at risk with automation that violates LinkedIn's rules.

We tested 13 LinkedIn creator tools across five categories: all-in-one platforms, scheduling, analytics, AI writing, and design. Each review covers what the tool does well, where it falls short, what it costs, and whether it's safe to use.

One thing upfront: LinkedIn removed the Creator Mode toggle in March 2024 and made all creator features available to every user by default. The tools below build on top of what LinkedIn already gives you for free. We cover LinkedIn's native tools further down.

How We Evaluated These Tools

Every tool was tested against six criteria:

  • Writing and formatting. Bold, italic, bullets, post preview, templates, hooks, snippets.
  • Scheduling. Reliability, desktop/mobile support, first-comment scheduling.
  • Analytics depth. Vanity metrics or real insight? Post comparisons, trends, audience data.
  • Content repurposing. Can you turn videos, blogs, or podcasts into LinkedIn posts?
  • LinkedIn-specific vs. multi-platform. Purpose-built for LinkedIn, or a generic tool with LinkedIn bolted on?
  • LinkedIn guidelines compliance. Does it automate engagement (auto-commenting, auto-liking, data scraping)? These violate LinkedIn's User Agreement and risk account restrictions or bans. Note: LinkedIn doesn't certify third-party tools, so no tool can claim official compliance. What matters is whether the tool automates activity on your behalf.

That last criterion matters more than most roundup articles acknowledge. A tool that gets your account restricted is the most expensive tool of all.

*Automation column: Every analytics tool collects data from LinkedIn automatically, either via a Chrome extension running in the background or through LinkedIn's API. "Data collection" means passive tracking only (no actions taken on your behalf). Tools marked "Yes" actively perform engagement actions (commenting, liking, DMs, connection requests) that may violate LinkedIn's User Agreement.

Prices as of March 2026. Monthly billing shown. Annual billing saves 15-30% for most tools.

Best All-in-One LinkedIn Creator Tools

1. AuthoredUp: Best for Content Creation + Analytics

AuthoredUp, a LinkedIn content creation and analytics platform, covers writing, formatting, preview, scheduling, publishing, and analytics in one place. It has two parts: a Chrome extension that integrates directly into LinkedIn's interface for writing, formatting, and scheduling, and a web platform (platform.authoredup.com) for managing drafts, browsing post history, and deep analytics.

Covers: ideation (hooks library) → writing → formatting → scheduling → deep analytics.

The editor adds formatting LinkedIn doesn't natively offer: bold, italic, lists, Unicode fonts, emojis. A library of 200+ hooks and 150+ CTA templates. A readability score that flags hard-to-scan posts before you publish.

Analytics goes deeper than any competitor on this list, including Shield. Side-by-side post comparisons show exactly which hook or format drove more engagement. Engagement rate tracking , correlation plots, hashtag performance, reaction breakdowns. The feature no other tool replicates: LinkedIn archive import. Upload your GDPR data export to load years of history. Every other tool only tracks from signup day.

The Chrome extension collects post performance data (impressions, reactions, comments) as you browse LinkedIn. This is passive data collection, not engagement automation. AuthoredUp doesn't auto-like, auto-comment, send auto-DMs, or automate any actions on your LinkedIn account. Company pages included free on all plans. Built with compliance in mind.

Limitations: Scheduling and posting require the Chrome extension. No AI content generation yet (Co-Author launching soon).

Pricing: Individual: $19.95/mo per profile ($16.63/mo annual). Team: $14.95/mo per member. See pricing. 14-day free trial, no credit card required. Free tools available without any signup: text formatter, post preview, headline writer, best time to post  calculator.

2. Taplio: Best for AI Writing + Sales Lead Generation

Taplio combines AI content creation with LinkedIn lead generation. Built for people who treat LinkedIn content as a top-of-funnel sales channel.

Covers: ideation (AI) → writing (AI) → scheduling → basic analytics → repurposing (URL-to-post) → lead tracking.

The AI writer generates drafts from topics, rewrites existing posts, or turns web URLs into LinkedIn content. Carousel creation is built in. The real differentiator is the lead generation layer: track who engages with your posts, build prospect lists from your content's audience.

The Starter plan ($39/mo) has zero AI credits and zero comment credits. The real value starts at the Growth plan ($69/mo), which includes AI credits, comment credits, and auto-reply features. The Pro plan ($199/mo) adds unlimited AI, auto-DMs, auto-connection requests, and a 3M+ lead database.

Limitations: The Growth plan at $69/mo is where Taplio becomes useful, making it one of the most expensive options here. AI output needs heavy editing. Analytics lack depth: no post comparisons, no correlation plots, no archive import. The Pro plan's auto-DMs and auto-connection requests violate LinkedIn's User Agreement. See our Taplio alternative analysis .

Pricing: Starter: $39/mo. Growth: $69/mo ($49/mo annual). Pro: $199/mo ($149/mo annual). 7-day Pro trial, no free plan.

3. Supergrow: Best for AI Content Generation + Repurposing

Supergrow is AI-first. Feed it your writing samples, and the AI learns your voice. It also repurposes YouTube videos, blog posts, and PDFs into LinkedIn posts.

Covers: ideation (AI + swipe file) → writing (AI, voice-trained) → scheduling → basic analytics → repurposing (video/blog/PDF).

The voice-trained AI is the main draw. Output sounds less generic than most AI tools. The "swipe file" saves posts from your feed with search and tagging. Scheduling, first-comment automation, and a content calendar round it out.

Limitations: AI quality depends on how much training data you provide. Works best with 50+ existing posts. Analytics are surface-level. First-comment automation is useful but LinkedIn could restrict it. The extension collects data and automates some engagement, which carries account risk.

Pricing: Starter: $19/mo. Pro: $39/mo. Agency plans from $69/mo. 7-day free trial. (Note: some regions see discounted pricing due to purchasing power parity.)

Best LinkedIn Scheduling Tools

4. Buffer: Best Free Scheduling Option

Buffer handles basic scheduling without paying for a LinkedIn-specific platform. The free plan gives you 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each. Enough for most solo creators posting 3-4 times per week.

Covers: scheduling only.

Straightforward, reliable, and the free tier is a real product. AI posting-time suggestions. Cross-platform support for LinkedIn alongside other social channels.

Limitations: Not LinkedIn-specific. No text formatting, no LinkedIn analytics beyond native, no carousel creation, no content library. Buffer does scheduling and nothing else for LinkedIn.

Pricing: Free (3 channels, 10 posts/channel). Paid: $5/mo per channel.

5. Hootsuite: Best for Enterprise Teams

Hootsuite is enterprise social media management for teams managing LinkedIn alongside five other platforms with approval workflows, team permissions, and unified reporting.

Covers: scheduling + team management only.

Hootsuite connects to LinkedIn through the official API for scheduling and pulling analytics data. No Chrome extension needed.

Limitations: Starting at $99/month (annual) makes it the most expensive option on this list for LinkedIn-specific value. No text formatting. Generic analytics. Per-user pricing. Overkill for solo creators or small teams focused on LinkedIn.

Pricing: From $99/user/mo (annual) or $149/user/mo (monthly). 30-day trial. No free plan.

Best LinkedIn Analytics Tools

6. Shield Analytics: Best for Analytics-Only Depth

Shield does one thing: LinkedIn analytics. No editor, no scheduler, no drafts. But it goes deeper than what most all-in-one tools offer as a side feature.

Covers: deep analytics only.

Shield collects data through a Chrome extension that runs in the background while you use LinkedIn, pulling impressions, engagement metrics, follower growth, and audience demographics. The dashboard is clean: engagement rate tracking, impressions  breakdown by content type, audience data. It also includes Shield Agent, an AI Q&A feature that answers questions about your performance data.

Shield doesn't automate engagement (no auto-likes, auto-comments). But the extension does automate data collection from LinkedIn's interface, similar to how AuthoredUp's extension works.

Limitations: Analytics start from signup date only. No historical import. No content creation features. Multiple profiles add up quickly, and AuthoredUp's flat rate includes analytics and the full content suite. See our Shield alternative comparison .

Pricing: From $12/mo (Solo: $12/mo, Plus: $19/mo, Business: $24/mo). 7-day trial. No free plan.

Best LinkedIn AI Writing Tools

7. Kleo: AI Content Creation + Personal Branding

Kleo is an AI content creation and personal branding platform for LinkedIn. The original Kleo was a Chrome extension for analyzing other people's posts, but LinkedIn sent a cease and desist over data scraping, forcing a shutdown. Kleo 2.0 is a completely different product: AI-powered post generation, voice/style training, templates, a knowledge base, and content scheduling.

Covers: ideation (AI) → writing (AI, voice-trained) → scheduling → inspiration saving.

Feed Kleo your existing content, and the AI learns your writing style. It generates drafts, offers templates, and includes a swipe file for saving inspiration from your feed. A companion Chrome extension lets you capture posts and ideas as you browse. The platform also includes graphic generation and scheduling.

Limitations: $99/month with no free plan or trial is the steepest entry cost on this list. For that price, Supergrow ($19-39/mo) and RedactAI ($11.90/mo) offer similar AI voice training at a fraction of the cost. No analytics. Relatively new product after the rebuild, so the feature set is still maturing.

Pricing: $99/mo ($999/year). No free plan. No trial.

8. Stanley: AI Content Advisor by Stan

Stanley is an AI-powered LinkedIn content advisor built by Stan (the creator economy platform behind Stan Store). Launched in March 2026, it positions itself as an "AI Head of Content" that learns your voice and helps you write LinkedIn posts, generate ideas, and get feedback on drafts before publishing.

Covers: ideation (AI) → writing (AI, voice-trained) → content feedback.

Stanley learns your writing style from your existing LinkedIn posts and generates drafts that match your tone. It provides content feedback and post ideas tailored to your niche. Available as a web app, Chrome extension, and iOS app. Stanley doesn't post or schedule on your behalf. You still publish manually.

Limitations: At $149/month with no free plan, Stanley is the most expensive AI writing tool on this list. No scheduling, no content calendar, no templates library, no hashtag suggestions, no multi-language support. Analytics were recently added but are lighter than dedicated analytics tools. Needs existing post history to learn your voice, so less useful for new LinkedIn profiles. Very new product (launched March 2026), so the feature set is still evolving.

Pricing: $149/mo. No free plan. Limited trial availability.

9. MagicPost: AI Drafts + Analytics via LinkedIn API

MagicPost generates LinkedIn posts from topics or URLs and, on the Creator plan, includes LinkedIn analytics. Unlike most tools on this list, MagicPost connects to LinkedIn through the official API (OAuth), not a Chrome extension. They position this as safer than extension-based tools.

Covers: ideation (AI) → writing (AI) → scheduling (API) → analytics (Creator plan only).

The Starter plan ($39/mo, or $27/mo annual) covers AI writing, scheduling, and an engagement feed where you curate profiles to follow and engage with manually. The Creator plan ($59/mo, or $39/mo annual) adds analytics: impressions, likes, comments, follower count, content type breakdowns, best time to post, and the ability to view metrics on other creators' profiles.

Limitations: No free plan. The free trial gives you 5 posts to test, no credit card required. Analytics are only available on the Creator plan. The API approach means MagicPost can't track some metrics (profile views, post clicks, post saves) that extension-based tools can access. No text formatting features.

Pricing: Starter: $39/mo ($27/mo annual). Creator: $59/mo ($39/mo annual). Free trial (5 posts).

10. RedactAI: Best Budget AI Writer

RedactAI generates LinkedIn posts that match your writing style. Upload samples, and the AI adapts to your tone and vocabulary. At $11.90/month, it's the cheapest paid AI tool on this list.

Covers: writing (AI, voice-matched) only.

Limitations: AI writing only. No editor, scheduling, or analytics. 4 posts/month on free plan won't cover daily posting. Every AI post still needs human editing.

Pricing: Free (4 posts/mo). Paid: $11.90/mo.

redactai-homepage

11. ContentIn: Best for AI Content Planning

ContentIn is an AI ghostwriter that plans your content calendar. Set topics and frequency, and it maps out a month of LinkedIn posts with AI drafts for each slot.

Covers: ideation (AI calendar) → writing (AI) only.

Limitations: No free plan (free trial only). Analytics minimal. AI output is a starting point, not a finished product.

Pricing: Essentials: $15/mo. Growth: $31/mo. Pro: $48/mo. Free trial available.

Best LinkedIn Design & Carousel Tools

12. Contentdrips: Best for Carousel Templates

Contentdrips makes LinkedIn carousel posts  without design skills. Pick a template, add text, export as PDF. Auto-branding pulls your photo and name into every slide. 100+ templates.

Covers: design (carousels) only.

Limitations: Also supports Instagram, so templates aren't always optimized for LinkedIn. Free plan's 50 AI credits are one-time, not monthly. No scheduling or analytics.

Pricing: Free (50 credits, one-time). Paid: $15/mo / ~$12/mo annual.

contentdrips-homepage

13. Canva: Best General Design Tool (with Scheduling on Pro)

Canva is a general design platform millions use for LinkedIn visuals: cover images, carousel slides, infographics, post graphics. The free tier includes thousands of templates, including LinkedIn-specific ones. On Pro, Canva also doubles as a basic scheduling tool: design a post and publish it directly to your LinkedIn profile or company page from the Content Planner.

Covers: design (general) + scheduling and basic analytics (Pro only).

Limitations: Scheduling and publishing require Canva Pro ($15/mo). Free users design and download only. No text formatting for LinkedIn posts. Analytics are basic (impressions, clicks, likes). Up to 25 scheduled posts at a time. Each design can only be scheduled to one platform at a time. Not a replacement for LinkedIn-specific tools if you need deep analytics, post comparisons, or content libraries.

Pricing: Free (design only). Pro: $15/mo / $10/mo annual. 30-day free trial for Pro.

LinkedIn's Built-in Creator Tools (Free)

Before paying for third-party tools, know what LinkedIn gives you for free. In March 2024, LinkedIn retired the Creator Mode toggle and made all creator features default for every user. No setup needed.

According to LinkedIn's official creator tools page:

Follow Button. Set "Follow" as the primary action instead of "Connect."

→ Enable: Settings & Privacy → Visibility → Followers → toggle "Make follow primary."

Creator Analytics. Post impressions, engagement, follower demographics, growth trends.

→ Access: Your profile → Analytics section → "Show all analytics."

Newsletter. Publish long-form content. Subscribers get email + in-app notifications. No follower minimum.

→ Start: Analytics & Tools dashboard → Newsletter option at the bottom.

LinkedIn Live & Audio Events. Broadcast live video (requires StreamYard/Restream) or host audio conversations.

→ Access: Analytics & Tools dashboard.

Featured Section. Pin best posts, articles, newsletters, or external links to your profile top.

→ Use: Edit profile → Featured section → click "+" to add content.

LinkedIn AI Writing Assistant (Premium). Helps draft or rewrite posts from an initial idea. Basic compared to Supergrow or RedactAI, but included with Premium.

What was removed: Profile hashtags (February 2024). LinkedIn shifted to AI-based content discovery.

These handle publishing basics and audience building. Third-party tools fill the gaps: rich text formatting, post preview, deep analytics with post comparisons, content libraries with search, voice-matched AI, and carousel design.

How to Choose the Right Tool

Solo creator focused on quality and data:

AuthoredUp. Deepest combination of writing tools and analytics. From $14.95/mo on Team plans, $19.95/mo for Individual. Archive import gives you the complete picture, not just data from signup day.

LinkedIn as a sales channel:

Taplio. Content creation + lead tracking starting at $39/mo (Starter), but the real features start at the Growth plan ($69/mo). Worth it if LinkedIn drives sales, not just brand awareness.

AI-assisted first drafts:

RedactAI ($11.90/mo) for cheapest voice-matched AI. Supergrow (from $19/mo) adds scheduling and repurposing. Stanley ($149/mo) if you want an AI content advisor with feedback and strategy, but it's the priciest option. Start with RedactAI's free plan to test.

Zero budget:

Buffer free scheduling + AuthoredUp's free tools + LinkedIn's native analytics = $0/month.

Team across multiple platforms:

Hootsuite or Buffer paid for multi-platform scheduling. Pair with AuthoredUp or Taplio for the LinkedIn-specific work.

Analytics only:

Shield (from $12/mo) is cleanest. But AuthoredUp gives analytics plus the full creation suite at a lower effective price.

Content repurposing (video, blog, podcast → LinkedIn):

Supergrow for video (YouTube transcripts). MagicPost for blog/article repurposing.

FAQ: LinkedIn Creator Tools

What are LinkedIn creator tools?

Two categories. First, LinkedIn's built-in features: Follow button, analytics, newsletters, Live, audio events, Featured section, and the AI writing assistant (Premium). These became default for all users in March 2024 when LinkedIn removed Creator Mode. Second, third-party tools like AuthoredUp, Taplio, and Supergrow that add what LinkedIn doesn't offer: rich text formatting, post preview, scheduling, deep analytics with post comparisons, and AI writing.

What happened to LinkedIn Creator Mode?

LinkedIn retired the Creator Mode toggle in March 2024. The features didn't go away. LinkedIn made them default for all users. The Follow button, newsletters, Live, analytics, and audio events are in your profile settings directly. Profile hashtags were removed in February 2024, replaced by AI-based content discovery.

What is the best LinkedIn creator tool in 2026?

Depends on your gap. For content creation + analytics combined, AuthoredUp starting from $14.95/mo (Team) or $19.95/mo (Individual). Writing, formatting, scheduling, and deeper analytics than any competitor, including historical data via archive import. For AI content generation, Supergrow (from $19/mo) or RedactAI ($11.90/mo). For scheduling only, Buffer's free plan. For analytics only, Shield (from $12/mo).

Is there a free LinkedIn creator tool?

Several. LinkedIn's built-in tools are free for all users. AuthoredUp's free tools include a text formatter, post preview, headline writer, and best time to post calculator. No signup needed. Buffer offers free scheduling for 3 channels. RedactAI gives 4 free AI posts per month. Canva's free plan covers LinkedIn graphics.

What is the best AI tool for LinkedIn posts?

For voice-matched output, Supergrow, RedactAI, and Stanley lead. All three learn your style from samples. Supergrow (from $19/mo) includes scheduling and repurposing. RedactAI ($11.90/mo) covers AI writing only but at the lowest price. Stanley ($149/mo) adds content feedback and strategy advice but at a premium. MagicPost ($27-59/mo) adds analytics via LinkedIn's official API. LinkedIn Premium includes a basic AI assistant. All AI tools require human editing. They produce starting points, not finished posts.

Are LinkedIn creator tools safe to use?

LinkedIn doesn't certify or assess third-party tools (only official LinkedIn Marketing Partners go through a review process), so no tool can claim full compliance. Two types of automation to consider:

Data collection automation (lower risk): Most analytics tools collect data automatically. AuthoredUp and Shield use Chrome extensions that passively track your post performance as you browse LinkedIn. MagicPost and Hootsuite use LinkedIn's official API. This is how these tools populate your analytics dashboards. (Note: Kleo's original extension scraped data from other people's profiles. After LinkedIn issued a cease and desist, Kleo pivoted to AI content creation and no longer offers that feature.)

Engagement automation (higher risk): Auto-commenting, auto-liking, auto-DMs, auto-connection requests. Taplio's Pro plan includes auto-DMs and auto-connection requests. Supergrow offers first-comment automation. These actions violate LinkedIn's User Agreement and risk account restrictions.

Buffer, RedactAI, ContentIn, Contentdrips, and Canva don't automate engagement on LinkedIn. (Canva Pro offers scheduling, but no engagement automation.)

How do I access LinkedIn's creator tools?

No setup needed since March 2024.
Follow button: Settings & Privacy → Visibility → Followers → "Make follow primary."
Analytics: Profile → Analytics section → "Show all analytics."
Newsletter & Live: Analytics & Tools dashboard.
Featured section: Edit profile → Featured → "+". Premium subscribers also get an AI writing assistant.

Start with LinkedIn's free tools and one third-party option that fills your biggest gap. Add more only when you've outgrown what you have.
